About the LPIN
The Land and Primary Industries Network consolidates industry, government, community and research expertise in emissions reduction, fostering the innovation and growth of commercialisation and technology adoption.
The Network leverages significant near-term subsidy opportunities in existing near-ready tech and practices in the NSW land sector.
Our aim is to overcome behavioural and knowledge barriers, and policy and regulatory constraints to assist landholders and companies in adopting decarbonisation solutions. The extensive expertise across our Network members and affiliates will offer sector-specific advice to government to support rapid & effective deployment of low carbon solutions.

By bringing together researchers, practitioners, natural resource managers, farmers & land managers, we will support research adoption and practice change throughout NSW.

Ensuring that the agribusiness and other small to medium-sized enterprises in the LPIN are able to grow & scale their decarbonisation innovations.
Legal & Policy frameworks
Change and policy formulation will require an institutional understanding of public regulation, policy and implementation & reform.

Prof Uffe Nielsen (WSU)
Network Lead
Professor Uffe Nielsen is Theme Leader for Soil Biology and Genomics at WSU’s Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment, where he leads research on soil biodiversity, community ecology and ecosystem functioning. His work focuses on understanding how belowground communities respond to environmental change and how these responses influence nutrient cycling and ecosystem services.
During a career spanning Europe, the United States and Australia, he has led and contributed to research programs examining soil biota across diverse ecosystems, from agricultural landscapes to the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica, advancing ecological theory across scales and environments.
