We are hitting the road! – join us across Tamworth, Armidale and Glen Innes May 6th – 8th to explore the future of biomass, biofuels and bioproducts in regional NSW, and hear about the research driving decarbonisation across the land and primary industries sectors.

Hosted by the NSW Decarbonisation Hub’s Land and Primary Industry Network, this roadshow connects researchers, farmers, land managers, local councils, community representatives and industry to explore opportunities and identify new research areas to fast-track decarbonisation and regional growth.

Event Itinerary

Day 1: Tamworth – Wednesday 6 May

Location: Tamworth Agricultural Institute, 4 Marsden Rd, Tamworth

Event 1. Morning (10.30–12.30)
Tour the crop trials and hear insights into biomass and biofuels.

Lunch provided.

Event 2. Afternoon Roundtable (2.00–4.00).

Can FOGO be used for biofuels or bioproducts?
This roundtable aims to explore the potential of Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) as a potential feedstock for biofuels and high-value bioproducts in the region. Hear from researchers focused on the challenge of converting waste to bioproduct, and join in a discussion with council, community and industry to flag key concerns, identify regional needs, and explore options for practical implementation pathways.

Day 2: Armidale – Thursday 7 May

Location: NOVA, UNE Smart Region Incubator, 122 Faulkner St, Armidale

Event 3. Forum 10am-12 noon:

Opportunities driving decarbonisation & regional growth across the land and primary industries sectors.

This forum showcases the work of leading partner researchers from the NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub. A great opportunity for industry, farmers, land holders, councils and community representatives to hear the latest research findings and ask about how this will impact your region. You’ll have the chance to engage directly with researchers from major NSW universities and help shape future research and projects in your region.

Event 4: Informal networking session

Join us at the ‘White Bull Hotel’ for informal networking drinks and to share ideas and thoughts on future opportunities in your region to support decarbonisation.

Day 3: Glen Innes – Friday 8 May

Location: Seata Group, 448 West Furracabad Rd, Glen Innes

Event 5: Talk and tour 8.30 – 10.30am of the Climate Biochar Facility

This tour and talk is designed for people who are interested in understanding more about how biochar is made and how it can be used. Pickup Rydge’s Hotel Armidale at 7am.
