Powerfuels Network Hosts InnovateUK Delegation

14 August 2023

At the start of August, the Powerfuels including Hydrogen Network and ARC Training Centre for the Global Hydrogen Economy hosted a delegation from the UK, facilitated by InnovateUK. The visit was a stop on a wider Australian tour as part of the UK’s Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP).

Australia and the UK are at the forefront of innovation in the hydrogen sector and enjoy a rich history of collaborating through net zero partnerships. Both nations are committed to developing the hydrogen sector as a secure, low carbon replacement for fossil fuels in the transition to greater energy security and net zero.

The UK delegation is formed of some of the best and most forward-thinking UK based innovators, who are seeking to build relationships with potential partners. This included representatives from Actuation LabBankEnergiCARNOT, Engas Global Ltd, HyWavesHygenoxPrecision ImpulseSmart Ports GroupSupercritical, and Transformational Energy.

It was a fantastic morning of exchanging knowledge on hydrogen in industry, and a great opportunity to develop working relationships to accelerate the pace at which the global challenges to developing the hydrogen economy can be addressed.

The presentations were followed by a tour of the hydrogen combustion lab on campus at UNSW.

We look forward to continuing to expand our collaborative opportunities, with the view to hydrogen innovation and commercialisation!
