P2X Future: Internship Opportunity

1 September 2025

P2X Future is a Decarb Hub internship initiative led by the Powerfuels including Hydrogen Network aimed at fostering career-readiness and industry collaboration for students enrolled in network partner universities. The program provides students with the opportunity to undertake meaningful, paid internships with leading industry partners in the P2X sector.

Each internship is supported by a $10,000 (AUD) P2X Future award funded by the Decarb Hub and administered through the student’s university, in collaboration with an industry partner.

Objectives

  • Provide experience and skills development for students in P2X and related disciplines.
  • Strengthen collaborations between academia and industry in the clean energy transition.
  • Support the development of a skilled workforce aligned with NSW net-zero goals.
  • Enable students to contribute to P2X-related research and development projects.

How it works

Application Process:
Application is to be sent to the Decarb Hub Secretariat. The project proposal can come from industry partner or university partner.

Contracting
Each awardee will be required to complete Project Brief (provided) and execute a project agreement. Successful applicants will be required to verify key information prior to the provision of a funding agreement. The funds will be disbursed to the network partner university/organisation (Project Lead) where the student is enrolled.

Recruitment and Internship Commencement
Student recruitment can start at any time (during proposal stage or post successful award). Students begin placement and receive the stipend in accordance with their university’s payment schedule.

Reporting and Feedback
Students submit a short report and video reflection post-internship. Industry supervisors provide feedback to the Decarb Hub.
