3 December 2025

The NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub’s 2024–25 Annual Report highlights a year of strong momentum, deeper collaboration and tangible progress toward the State’s net-zero goals.
Now fully in delivery mode, the Hub brought together government, industry and 10 NSW universities to accelerate research commercialisation, unlock investment and support decarbonisation across key sectors.
The year saw major strides across our three networks – Electrification and Energy Systems, Land and Primary Industries, and Powerfuels including Hydrogen – with successful seed-funded projects, large-scale funding bids and strong industry partnerships. Highlights include a $100M bid for an Agrisolar Cooperative Research Centre, a $50M ARC Centre of Excellence proposal in Renewable Fuels and on-ground trials such as renewable diesel in commercial fishing vessels.
Engagement across NSW continued to expand, with more than 1700 people attending Hub-supported events, regional roadshows across the state and significant contributions to Climate Action Week and the Western Sydney Manufacturers Forum.
The report reflects a year of building capability, strengthening collaboration and delivering practical innovations that will help NSW transition to a low-emissions, jobs-rich and globally competitive economy.
